From the intimacy of sacred music to the dramatic world of opera.
Polish mezzo-soprano Joanna Jaworowska has been a member of the Theater Plauen-Zwickau ensemble since the 2024/25 season. Her work spans opera, concert, sacred music and music theatre.
Her stage repertoire includes Hänsel, Olga, Mercédès, Prince Orlofsky and Siegrune. Engagements have taken her to the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, Theater Altenburg Gera, Theater Erfurt, Saarländisches Staatstheater and the Opéra Royal de Versailles.
Alongside her operatic work, Joanna maintains a deep connection with sacred music. Her concert repertoire includes works by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Rossini.

She studied organ and choral conducting at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, followed by church music and voice in Freiburg. In 2022 she completed her master’s degree in singing at HMDK Stuttgart with Natalie Karl.
A member of the Thüringer Opernstudio during the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, she has also participated in masterclasses with Brigitte Fassbaender and Margreet Honig.
Joanna speaks Polish, German, English and Spanish.
